Tara - Headshot (new)

It was announced to the world earlier today that Tara Russell, founder of CCG, has been appointed as President of fathomTM – the newest Carnival Corporation brand leading the way in social impact through travel, and as Global Impact Lead for Carnival Corporation & plc. The whole Create Common Good team is excited for Tara and this incredible new opportunity. We’ve seen firsthand how she’s deeply impacted the lives of so many here in Boise, and we’re thrilled she now has a global platform to transform the lives of many more people and communities in need.

For the past year and a half, Tara has transitioned out of running the day-to-day business of CCG as she developed the idea, business concept and go-to-market plans for fathomTM. During this time, our president and COO, Don Berry, has done a fantastic job leading the team through what continues to be huge growth. While Tara is no longer officially CEO of Create Common Good, as board chair she intends to remain actively engaged in ensuring our long-term success. It’s truly a win-win situation. We’ve been looking at ways to scale Create Common Good beyond Boise, and this could be the impetus we need. We see potential for food product development and production for the impact travel space, and look forward to exploring this possibility if the opportunity arises.

Meanwhile, Boise will continue to serve as our founder and board chair’s home base. Tara’s husband, Jeff, owns a business here (Jitasa, the first and largest national accounting and bookkeeping services provider dedicated to the nonprofit sector), and their extended family loves living in the Treasure Valley. Tara says she looks forward to remaining intimately involved as a leader in the community and, as she always has, working to make it an even better place to live and work.
