A few weeks ago, we were treated to a fantastic evening packed with great food and wine, family, and inspiration. Dan Ansotegui signed on as our guest chef for February Supperclub and created a delicious menu of Basque cuisine. Dan is a local chef, known for his famous paella dinners, as well as starting Bar Gernika. Wines from the region accompanied the menu, selected by Trevor Hertrich from Northwest Specialty Beverage. Dan Costello serenaded guests as they sipped and mingled.
Guests enjoyed Basque tapas including manchego cheese with membrillo, stuffed Piquillo peppers, and shrimp croquetas. Then came ensalada mixta, barbecued solomo with peppers – Dan brought in his own charcoal grill! – and finally, brazo gitano for dessert! We’d like to thank Chef Dan Ansotegui once again for sharing his passion for food and the community.Â
The highlight of the evening was a special moment when CCG graduate and current employee, Sherry shared a few details about what led her to CCG. She spoke to her training experience in the program and that she found she valued the relationships made in the program just as much as the job training skills. Sherry has big plans for her future, including opening a bed and breakfast. With her hard work, talent, and motivation, we know she can get there. Supperclub is a wonderful opportunity to treat yourself to a fabulous night out and support futures, like Sherry’s.
This year, we will work with guest chefs from the community to bring you incredible menus with a mission. To attend a Supperclub, please visit CCG Supperclub 2016.
