nutritious snack program
Feeding the community is a key component to Create Common Good's mission. Through our nutritious snack program, we leverage bulk food pricing available to our commercial kitchen with generous grant dollars from St. Luke's Community Health Improvement Fund (CHIF) and the United Way Treasure Valley to provide USDA qualifying nutritious snacks to low-income children in the Treasure Valley.
Utilizing our grant subsidies, organizations like the Boise School District, Family Advocates, the Women's and Children's Alliance daycare, Girls on the Run and others can provide low cost, high-quality, nutrient rich snacks to the children they serve.
This program is run and managed by our trainees, allowing them to give to their community while also gaining additional hands-on experiential learning. It feels great to give back!
