IBR 2015 Accomplished Under 40: Kelly Parker

Announcing IBR’s 2015 Accomplished Under 40

AU40[1]

For 16 years, Idaho Business Review has been recognizing professionals under the age of 40 who have already made big differences at work and in their communities. They have vision. They are leaders, not for the future, but for now.More than 200 people were nominated for IBR‘s Accomplished Under 40 this year. Of those, 90 completed the application process. Thirty-six former honorees put their hands up to help out as reviewers. There were nine groups with 10 applicants in each. The nine review teams rated them from 1-5, with 5 the highest score, in five categories: leadership, accomplishments, community service, vision, and the “wow” factor. A perfect score was 25. Four reviewers rated each applicant and the scores were then averaged. The top 40 are this year’s IBR Accomplished Under 40.

While many reviewers said scoring was challenging because there were so many impressive candidates, Megan M. Leatherman, director of Ada County Development Services and an honoree from the class of 2014, said the process was simple. “I really enjoyed being on the other end – much easier and less stressful,” she said. “Plus, it is cool to see what people are up to and it is encouraging to read about the passion and love people have for our community and for making a difference in the world.”

Executive Director for River Discovery and 2012 AU40 honoree Anna Buschbacher agreed. “It was great to read and learn about some really great people in our community – makes me proud to know Idaho has these great leaders and positive community contributors around.”

The 2015 AU40 event celebrating this year’s 40 honorees will be held 5:30 to 9 p.m. on June 18 at the Riverside Hotel, with a networking reception, dinner and awards program. The public is invited. For tickets click here.
