A letter from CCG's incoming CEO: Tracy Hitchcock

By Tracy Hitchcock

Hello Create Common Good supporters and partners,Hitchcock8813-color (1)

You heard from Don Berry earlier this month about his upcoming (and third!) retirement. Don has been instrumental in taking the programs and operations of CCG to another level, ensuring the organization is strong and set up for continued success. On a personal level, Don has been a mentor and friend to me as we have imagined my future with CCG. Though I know he will be an ongoing support to all of us, his day-to-day interactions and cheesy jokes will definitely be missed.

By way of introducing myself to you all, I have been an ardent supporter of all things CCG from the beginning and on the Strategic Advisory Board for the last three years. My broad experience over a 17 year career with the J.R. Simplot Company in their food group division has allowed me to offer expertise as an advisor in everything from food production and safety to new product innovation and marketing. I have a B.S. in Biology (go BSU!) and I have worked in food science/R&D, account management and global innovation with Simplot’s largest customer (guess who). Most recently I have led Simplot’s foodservice customer marketing and culinary teams. It is my hope that in the role of CEO my business acumen will ensure CCG continues to meet the needs of our food production customers and my passion for community will lead us to even stronger programs and outcomes for our trainees.

In the first 6 months of my tenure, I will spend time learning more about the details of the operation as well as getting to know the staff and trainees on a deeper level. Looking to the next 12-24 months, we will focus our strategy to ensure a stable business foundation that allows us to continue to grow our training programs and provide relevant food solutions while expanding our customer base. I can’t wait to see what’s next for CCG in Boise and beyond.

It is my humble honor to work with Tara Russell and the dedicated Board of Directors as well as the talented CCG staff. I simply could not be more grateful to be starting this next chapter in my life with this extraordinary organization. I look forward to working with all of you to continue to put love in action and imagine a brilliant CCG future.
