Chef Katy Osuna brings award-winning menu home to Boise for Create Common Good Supperclub

BOISE, Idaho (May 11, 2016) — Chef Katy Osuna will return to Boise as a guest chef at Create Common Good’s June 2 Supperclub event. Osuna is presenting an Idaho version of the menu that won her the San Francisco Culinary Clash March 6 at the Michelin-starred restaurant LUCE and which she is presenting at the international Ultimate Clash in Mexico City May 17.

By using locally sourced produce and working with Treasure Valley farms, Osuna will put a uniquely Idaho spin on her Italian-inspired menu. Courses include: savory cannoli and crostini; ricotta gnudi with dandelion green pea pesto and brown butter; pollo al mattone with spiced ricotta, seasonal vegetables, and whey foam; and panna cotta with lavender-gin granita, pistachio crumble, and rhubarb.

After graduating from the College of Idaho in 2012 with a degree in anthropology, Osuna joined Create Common Good as its food program manager. In the winter of 2015, she decided to pursue her love of the culinary arts by attending the International Culinary Center in the San Francisco Bay Area. Osuna has quickly established herself as an emerging young chef in the Bay Area’s culinary scene, and will be representing San Francisco at the Ultimate Clash culinary competition hosted by the Intercontinental Hotel in Mexico City.

Create Common Good’s bi-monthly Supperclub events are a unique experience in Boise. The doors open at 6 p.m. for libations, and at 6:30 p.m. guests move into a dining room that by day serves as the nonprofit social enterprise’s commercial kitchen. Ordinarily used for hands-on foodservice job training and full-scale food manufacturing and packaging, Create Common Good’s facility is transformed during Supperclub into a formal dining space with intimate views of the chef and kitchen crew preparing and plating each dish.
